Our Mission

Breanna MacLeod’s Legacy of Hope Fund aims to provide funding to charities and organizations committed to supporting mental health and suicide prevention initiatives for women and youth in Canada.

Through the fund, we hope to raise awareness, start conversations, and support the many Canadians struggling with mental Illness. It is reported that 1 in 5 Canadians experience a mental illness or addiction problem and an average of 11 Canadians die each day by suicide (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, 2021). We hope that by supporting organizations committed to educating and providing help, we can begin to move toward a future where mental illness and suicide do not take any more lives.

What Breanna’s Legacy of Hope Fund has done so far…

Over the past 3 years the Breanna MacLeod Legacy of Hope Fund has donated over $20,000 to varies organizations that strive to support women and youth mental health initiatives in Calgary. Charities we have donated to include: Wood’s Homes, The Mustard Seed, Centre for Suicide Prevention, The Distress Centre, Alberta Children’s Hospital Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, and Awo Taan Healing Lodge.

As part of our Random Acts of Kindness giveaway challenge we have also donated to Stephen’s Backpacks for Children, Pawsitive Match, and The Mustard Seed.

“Dear Breanna,

Your legacy of hope fund will help other women to believe.

And have faith in what they can’t see, as they receive

the assistance, inspiration, and love they desire.

And the strength to move forward before they too tire.

Of living with a secret life unable to share their pain.

Afraid of what people will think, not aware of what they could gain.

If only the world would accept depression without making one feel shame.

It’s better to share..you’d be amazed at how many feel the same.”
